Sorry folks,

For those of you who took my recent message "of dropping out" to suggest
I was pulling out or dropping off the list, I have to warn you that this
was not the implication I meant to send at all!  I think it was 3AM when
I sent that at the end of a few days of "crises", it was *meant* to be a
graceful explanation for why I *might* not keep my usual  level of
nonsensery up here!

I have been in the vortex of a medical crisis with my aged parents that
had me "on deck" for 24/7 care for one and life-changing decisions for
the other.   I just popped out of the vortex last night around 11PM when
a cousin flew in from back east to "rescue" me (and my parents).  My
parent's situation is now stable and my cousin, a Registered Nurse with
no sense of fear and an even larger and more physical person than myself
has slipped (all but literally) into my big fat shoes and is manhandling
my folks, the medical system, the nursing home system, and the postman
too I think.

I'm flying out in about 30 mins to Europe for a 3 week business trip
with non-trivial implications which I imagined I was going to have to
drop due to my parents challenges.

So, no!  I'm not dropping of the list, just the face of the earth (well,
continent) for a few weeks...

Thanks to those (you know who you are) who expressed concern that
somehow I'd lost my mind or been chased off list, far from it!

Catch you on the flip side!
  - Steve

Yeah, common problem: multiple addresses, and only one in the mail list .. you don't want lots of emails per post!

And be sure to change your personality just slightly depending on which
e-mail address you're posting from. ;-)  Personally, I find it very
satisfying.
