Dear John ,

We told you more big news would be coming, and it has.

On Monday, the Council on Competitiveness <http://www.compete.org> joined
AAAS in becoming an official cosponsor of Science Debate
2008<http://www.sciencedebate2008.com/www/index.php?id=17>
.

On Tuesday, MSNBC reported on
us<http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/01/29/619086.aspx>in
their coverage of the State of the Union address.

Yesterday, fifty-seven universities and other organizations officially
signed on <http://www.sciencedebate2008.com/www/index.php?id=19>!  They
include big names like Columbia, NYU, University of Washington, Arizona
State, University of Minnesota, Michigan Tech, The Carnegie Institution of
Washington, the Aspen Institute, and many more.  Please check with
organizations you belong to about joining this important initiative.

And today, click here for a sneak
preview<http://www.sciencedebate2008.com/www/index.php?id=18>of
something coming we haven't shown anyone else yet - a collection of
quotes from some of our signers about why everyone should care about a
science debate.

It's hard to believe it was just a little over two months ago that
screenwriter Matthew Chapman called a few of us up and said "I have an idea,
want to try to do it?"  Now here we are, 12,000 leaders and 57 organizations
strong, representing the hopes and aspirations of millions more.

We attribute this rapid success to one thing: your support.  Let's keep it
building - we are having an impact, and there is more big news to come.
Check out the amazing lists of signers
here<http://www.sciencedebate2008.com/www/index.php?id=7>and
here <https://www.thedatabank.com/dpg/335/support.asp>, and please - forward
this to your friends and colleagues and ask them to join this important
initiative<https://www.thedatabank.com/dpg/335/personal2.asp?formid=SD2008SU>
.

Finally, please consider making an online donation
here<https://www.thedatabank.com/dpg/335/donate.asp?formid=donate>
.

Thank you!
