Fwd: Amity Shlaes: Islam blamers ignore real Mideast trouble source

Today's New Mexican has and interesting article on rainfall and democratic processes.  Here's a copy from a different newspaper, the New Mexican site did not include it, alas.

This is a bit like the direction of Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond .. looking for correlation, explanation outside of the political domain.  Interesting anyway.

Fascinating--and quite persuasive. How about New Mexico's acequia system?
