FW: Repast 3.0 Now Available!

Stephen Guerin
The Repast Organization for Architecture and Development (ROAD) is
pleased to announce the release of the Recursive Porous Agent Simulation
Toolkit Version 3.0 (Repast 3.0).  Repast 3.0 includes a variety of core
capabilities and new features.  The core capabilities of Repast are as
follows:

1.) Repast includes a variety of agent templates and examples. However,
the toolkit gives users complete flexibility as to how they specify the
properties and behaviors of agents.
2.) Repast is fully object-oriented.
3.) Repast includes a fully concurrent discrete event scheduler. This
scheduler supports both sequential and parallel discrete event
operations.
4.) Repast offers built-in simulation results logging and graphing
tools.
5.) Repast provides a range of two-dimensional agent environments and
visualizations.
6.) Repast allows users to dynamically access and modify agent
properties, agent behavioral equations, and model properties at run
time.
7.) Repast has social network modeling support tools.
8.) Repast is available on virtually all modern computing platforms
including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. The platform support includes both
personal computers and large-scale scientific computing clusters.

The new features of Repast 3.0 are as follows:

1.) Repast has automated Monte Carlo simulation framework.
2.) Repast includes libraries for genetic algorithms, neural networks,
random number generation, and specialized mathematics.
3.) Repast includes built-in systems dynamics modeling and interactive
mathematical equation editing.
4.) Repast has integrated geographical information systems (GIS)
support.
5.) Repast is fully implemented in a variety of languages including Java
(Repast J) and C# (Repast.Net).
6.) Repast models can be developed in many languages including Java, C#,
Managed C++, Visual Baisc.Net, Managed Lisp, Managed Prolog, and Python
scripting.

As always, free Repast downloads are available from
http://repast.sourceforge.net/ under the BSD open source license.
