Industry Forum features talk by IBM Director of Linux Cluster Sales

"Linux Clusters and How They Have Taken Over the High Performance
Computing World" is the subject of the next Industry Forum at Los Alamos
Research Park talk at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday  (November 12). Pete Savinelli,
Director, Linux Cluster Sales, at IBM will give the free talk.

Savinelli will present an overview on the basics of clusters and how they
are being used in the fields of Life Science; Oil Exploration;
Aerospace/Automotive; Media/Entertainment; and University/National Labs.
Savinelli has worked for IBM since 1984 with a focus on high performance
computing.  He led the installation of IBM's first large cluster (at the
University of New Mexico) in 1999, and has been responsible for IBM Linux
Clusters for the western US since 2000.

The Industry Forum at Los Alamos Research Park is a continuing series of
presentations aimed at exploring market applications for technology
developments. The series is a collaborative effort of Los Alamos Research
Park and the Laboratory's Industrial Business Development (IBD) Division,
which serves as the Laboratory's conduit for collaboration with private
industries.

The talk is on the second floor conference center at the Research Park
located at 4200 West Jemez Road across from Technical Area 3. Hot Rocks Java
Caf? will provide refreshments.

An RSVP is requested to ensure space is available for all who want to
attend.  Anyone interested in attending can call 662-0026, or write to
[hidden email] by electronic mail to RSVP.
