Jose - thanks for the reference. There's a full-text version of Macy &
Willer freely available at http://grace.wharton.upenn.edu/~sok/papers/

Keith - which of the CASOS projects sheds the most light on the
validation/methodology question? Time constraints dictate that I use a
directed search!

Kathleen Carley's lesson on Validation and Verification in her =
Computational
Methods for Organizational Theory course last Fall made extensive use of
examples from a predecessor to ORGAHEAD called CORP, versions of ELM (a
sample discussion of these I found conveniently at the following URL)

, and also COMIT, which I am even less familiar with at this point.  I =
am
new to the research group, hence I lack an intimate historical knowledge =
of
how validation and verification efforts have been informed, =
orchestrated, or

I have referred the question and will begin hunting up more specifics on =
our
validation methods in order to respond better.  I'll be needing to know =
very
soon for my own sake!
