Strange bedfellows: A twitter thread recently, connected up these interesting folks:

Firefly's Josh Whedon, now at Marvel .. Agents of Shield, Avengers: Age of Ultron, ...

He funded a future project via Kickstarter, by the cop dad actor in The Flash, Jesse L. Martin, who is also a writer/singer.

This lead to the Flash team singing the theme from Firefly, "The Ballad of Serenity":

Jesse L. Martin was the original actor who played Tom Collins in the Broadway musical Rent (where he was fabulous -- I was lucky enough to see it two weeks after it opened on Broadway), so he definitely has legitimate singing credentials.
