Collaboration?

Owen Densmore
Administrator
Hey, wanna do some computer science?!

Steve and I are taking CS500 via distanced learning from UNM:
   http://tuvalu.santafe.edu/%7Emoore/500/500.html
It is based on a book soon to be published by Cris Moore and Stephen
Mertens:
   http://www.nature-of-computation.org/

Cris is the prof for the class, and his homework is unusual: he wants
us to collaborate with each other within the class, and for those of
us distance learners, with people we know in our communities.  The
problems are difficult enough that he feels it unlikely a single
individual could do all of them.  Here are our last two assignments.
Note the heading encouraging collaboration:
   http://backspaces.net/temp/HW3/homework2orig1.pdf
   http://backspaces.net/temp/HW3/homework3orig1.pdf

The same directory contains three chapter pre-prints used for the
homework sets.

So here's the question: is anyone interested in working on these
problems with Steve and me?

Basically meet, exchange email or use skype or phone to suggest ways
to solve the problems, or references that might be useful.  Kinda like
a Santa Fe Complex Project!  Its part of our project to improve higher
education in Santa Fe. We can show past CS500 lectures at SFX if it
would help participants.

Re: [WedTech] Collaboration?

I bet you were one of those nerdy kids who couldn't wait for school to start in the fall, weren't you Owen?

Those are some difficult problems; sadly I have no time to collaborate.
