All:

Forgive me if the list has seen this announcement, but I don't recall it
being posted.  Since it is in Santa Fe, and there's no registration fee, I'm
am sure it will be of interest to many.

"Bridging cellular to social" will be the theme for this year's workshop.
Whereas past workshops in this series have highlighted developments targeted
at the scale of the individual and group, this year's attention will turn to
expanding the scale of cognitive systems.

Toward the cellular, the workshop will emphasize emerging opportunities
for progress in the neurosciences to spawn deeper understanding of the
relationship between brain and cognitive processes, and the application of
these advancements to innovative technologies. Invited speakers will discuss
research findings providing the foundations for the realization of future
NeuroTechnologies. This will combine with a series of tutorials by leading
scientists focused on the "Fundamentals of neuroscience for engineers,
computer scientists and other technology developers."

With respect to the social, invited speakers will discuss the
state-of-the-art in large-scale simulation of humans, including economic,
social, political and other facets of behavior. The workshop offers a rare
juxtaposition of these seemingly disparate, but overlapping, scales for
cognitive science and technology.

Additionally, the workshop will feature topical breakout sessions in
which participants are encouraged to join small groups for discussion,
analysis and synthesis of positions concerning pertinent topics in cognitive
science and technology. Also featured, there will be a demonstration session
in which workshop participants will have an opportunity for hands-on
interaction with the latest in cognitive technologies.

The workshop will be held June 27th-29th in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.
