Broadband Bandwidth .. and Higher Bandwidth Options

Its interesting that digital communications is really about analog signals.  
The cable (DSL or otherwise) acts as a conduit for RF energy with amplifiers
and repeaters along the way.

Actually on the subject of "complexity", analog signal engineers are in high
demand these days because digital signals are not behaving nicely anymore.  
The problem is that, as the frequencies continually increase, the signals
don't behave as predicted.  A perfect example is the multi-gigahertz
processor.  The short wires start acting as undesired antennas, thus
presenting all kinds of problems for manufacturers.
