I remember several folks mentioning that they would like to have their
own web log (blog), and were interested in the various blog and/or CMS
(content management system) packages, and how to get started.

We (Redfish) are looking at blogs as part of our toolkit as well.
Roger used Drupal for the early Arspublica PeaceGame site, I use
Textpattern for backspaces.net for my site, and we've looked at
WordPress off and on due to its huge following and ease of
installation.

So this is a quick survey:

- How many folks would like to have their own blog/CMS?  Could you
elaborate a bit on what you'd like to achieve with one?

- How many folks are now already using a blog/CMS package?  Could you
let us know what your experiences are?

We're in the process of launching a blog as part of the re-launch of our
site. We looked at everything and decided on WordPress. It was easy to
install and customize. Not to mention the price was right.

Our intention with the blog is simple. To have a real-time, relevant
connection with prospects, clients and even competitors. To disseminate and
test the weight of ideas on-the-fly.

Blogs are featured in this week's Business Week.

I'm using http://www.myblogsite.com/ and, having corrected one HTML tag
problem thanks to FRIAM colleague Robert Cordingley, have found it stable
and easy-to-customize.  And the price is right.  (How do these folks stay in
business anyway?)
