Does this mean Bios will still exist here in Santa Fe? .. or is this a
IP buy-off. Owen Densmore 451 Camino Don Miguel Santa Fe, NM 87505 [hidden email] http://backspaces.net/ 505-988-3787 Cell: 650-796-0652 |
It's almost certainly an IP buyoff, but it's not clear whether or not anything will stay
here. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of Owen Densmore Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 3:03 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Friam] Bios to be sold to Nutech? *** 2/7 meeting place is undecided *** Does this mean Bios will still exist here in Santa Fe? .. or is this a IP buy-off. My understanding is that Bios would remain as a holding company;
there are debts to pay off. The employee stock will most likely stay with that holding company and will not be in play. The holding company would almost certainly have to retain some IP in order to pay down that debt, though one hopes for some dividends from the spinoffs. That way, the employee shares might be worth more, whereas if they just sold everything outright, we'd only get something after the debts were paid and the preferred stock holders got paid. The fate of the Santa Fe office is still unknown. Part of it depends on whether they can lure any of the remaining scientists to Charlotte. NT will be in Santa Fe evaluating the place for the next several days. My own eval is that this is not entirely a done deal yet. The folks I've talked to still are uncertain as to what might happen to the DC office. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of Dr. Richard Cassin Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 3:08 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: RE: [Friam] Bios to be sold to Nutech? *** 2/7 meeting place is undecided *** It's almost certainly an IP buyoff, but it's not clear whether or not anything will stay here. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of Owen Densmore Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 3:03 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Friam] Bios to be sold to Nutech? *** 2/7 meeting place is undecided *** Does this mean Bios will still exist here in Santa Fe? .. or is this a IP buy-off. On the other side of the street, they're saying Bios said 'no' to Nutech. -S ____________________________________________________ http://www.redfish.com [hidden email] 624 Agua Fria Street office: (505)995-0206 Santa Fe, NM 87501 mobile: (505)577-5828> |
