Best Video Storage and Streaming Site

I've got a friend who had a a large volume of video (>15 hrs apparently) that he'd like to break into 1 hr segments and make available on the web.

He was concerned that youtube wouldn't host this sort of thing, at least not for free.

Do any of us have experience with this sort of thing?  Would youtube actually work if the video were reformatted more compactly?  Are there other good sites?  Heck, could we use Amazon Web Services?

I have watched a two-hour video on Youtube before, for what it is worth. What matters even more perhaps is who the intended audience is. If it is of the artsy variety of footage Vimeo might take it...of course since most video sites are self-moderated with some exception, it would really be finding a suitable place rather than worrying about the absolute possibility of upload.
