A reminder of tomorrow's blender:
DESCRIPTION:
LIDAR logic, spatial data research & modeling, GPS & GIS systems are
all part of a wide-ranging pair of discussions scheduled for April 16
at Santa Fe Complex. (We're located here.) They will be led by Keith
Cunningham, a Lawrence, KS-based researcher & consultant who
specializes in these topics.
Keith has a Ph.D. in geography from the University of Kansas where he
did his dissertation on Artificial Neural Networks and the Extraction
of Spatial Information from Raster Imagery. His current research is
with large 3D data sets collected from airborne LiDAR (Light
Detection and Ranging) laser scanners. He also does spatial data
research to help businesses monitor and plan their GIS systems, and
works in the overall area of mapping, geographic analysis and pattern
recognition in data visualization and dignal processing.
Keith worked extensively in New Mexico during the 1990s and early
2000s through his firm, Spatial Data Research. SDR developed the GIS
system used in the 911 dispatch centers across the state. Keith can
discuss the details of this significant project that affects the
health and safety of everyone in New Mexico.
Keith will join us for the Wedtech session at 12:30 on Wednesday the
16th and an evening blender that night. The WedTech session will be
more informal than normal as we'll save the presentation for the
blender at 6:30 in the commons at 632 Agua Fria.
