There is in my mind nothing wrong with being an ideologue as long as the
ideologies create better conditions for human societies and are permitted to
compete equitably. Most European parliamentary governance is based on this
principle, e.g. the UK & France. The Bush administration is not primarily driven
by ideology but by the unenlightened self-interest of a plutocracy.
Perhaps Amerikan society cum empire started to decline with the
assassination of JFK.
