Two questions:
- Any new information on great android phones .. that will work in US & Europe?
- Can anyone clarify the 3/4G compatibility issues between Europe and the US?
Backstory:
I'm going to have my next phone be android, hopefully from T-Mobile here in the US. Our last discussion was here:
http://goo.gl/zoTbuBut trying to sort out the wireless broadband 3G/HSDPA/UMTS/AWS nightmare, it is not obvious which android phones will have compatible "3G" broadband in the US and Europe both. I do know that the iPhone 3G, at least in the US, does not work in Europe, because ATT was impatient for the freeing up of the frequencies needed for universal 3G.
At a start, I think one needs 1700/2100 Mhz provisioned for one being up, the other down.
I do know that T-Mobile does use these frequencies here in the US, but not sure if compatible with europe.
Thanks for any info!
