Amazon Quad-Copter delivery

Steve Smith
This seems inevitable, but still kind of creepy:
http://thenextweb.com/us/2013/12/02/amazon-plans-to-deliver-packages-via-drones-within-the-next-4-5-years-video/

Reminds me a bit of the opening pages of Snow Crash with Pizza Delivery owned by the Mob....

Re: Amazon Quad-Copter delivery

Carl Tollander
What if I order a quad-copter?   Would it deliver itself or a copy?    If it was a copy, I could maybe become a hub in a larger distribution system?   (The weight of the delivery system itself seems maybe within the limits of what it can deliver).

(Actually it's an octopter, octopopter, oct-copter).

I could imagine TAKUBIN services ( http://www.yamatoamerica.com/en/business/index.aspx ) picking up on this, though would probably need a beefier n-copter.   I think they've been doing small logistics longer than Amazon.

It could rapidly deliver, um, small parts.

You could mail me a file,
I could 3DPrint it small,
We wouldn't need Amazon,
At all.

...and then things get very interesting/annoying.....best get used to the hum....
