My interest in category theory is for the insight it might provide in
understanding such biological concepts as adaptation (in the design sense),
intentionality, epigenisis, function, regulation, taxanomic relations, etc
where, it seems to me, very complex, multilevel, partial mappings are
involved and we need some way to trace the thread of causality (whatever
THAT is) through very complex webs of co-incidence. .
Given that I will probably never really DO math in my remaining life, one
has to wonder how a MATHEMATICAL idea can give satisfaction to a
non-mathematician. I would be equally to learn that it can OR that it
cannot.
I guess we will see.
